Thing #15
Earlier this year my students participated on a project about the Gettysburg Address. In keeping with that I asked my colleagues to create a Thinglink that I could use next year with interesting links regarding Abraham Lincoln. Check it out below.

I decided to use StoryBird with my students so that they could publish stories that they created. Here is an example from one of my students.

This has been a pretty amazing road thus far. The information that I have learned is difficult to calculate and its effect on my teaching will be immeasurable. The blogs and discussion posts by my fellow candidates are great. I have enjoyed their willingness to help each other shown in the email threads. The experience has all been good.
I can not wait to complete the work though and resume some sense of a normal teaching day.

One of the learning objectives that all sixth grade students have this year according to the new Common Core Standards is to master the Pronoun, in all forms. I have explored a few websites and looked for various lesson plans online to find some alternate activities for my students that would help them learn the Pronoun. I found a pretty good video on Teacher Tube. Which goes over all forms of the pronoun in a short video. The students could watch, re-watch and then take notes on pronouns after viewing this video.
